MotoGP lands in Tokyo: Senso-ji Temple welcomes Grand Prix riders in style

Historic Asakusa district and the iconic Sensō-ji Temple play host to an incredible welcome for the most exciting sport on Earth

A host of Grand Prix riders visited the world renowned Asakusa district and Sensō-ji Temple in Tokyo on Wednesday, kicking off the Motul Grand Prix of Japan in style. MotoGP riders Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), Maverick Vinales (Aprilia Racing), Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing), Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), Joan Mir (Repsol Honda Team), Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP) and Augusto Fernandez (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) were joined by Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda LCR) and the Japanese riders from across each class ahead of their home Grand Prix: Ai Ogura (MT Helmets – MSI), Taiyo Furusato (Honda Team Asia), Ayumu Sasaki (Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team), Tatsuki Suzuki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) and Ryusei Yamanaka (MT Helmets – MSI).

Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta and Chief Sporting Officer Carlos Ezpeleta joined the event as MotoGP was welcomed to Japan, and the visit began with a ceremony for good fortune. A photo call was then followed by talk show for a passionate crowd, taking MotoGP to the heart of our fanbase in one of the sport’s most important markets.
