Lexus Racing Team Dominates Drifting and Autocross Races in Riyadh
Lexus Racing Team Achieves a Distinctive Quadruple at the Opening Round of the 2025 Saudi Toyota Drifting and Autocross Championships
The opening round of the 2025 Saudi Toyota Drifting and Autocross Championships concluded on Saturday evening in the heart of the capital, Riyadh. This exceptional sporting event, which blended excitement, skill, and passion, took place at the Janadriyah parking grounds. It was organized by the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), supported by the Ministry of Sport, and in collaboration with the official motorsport partner, Abdul Latif Jameel Motors (ALJ), and the Saudi Race Organizers Club.
The competitions saw a notable turnout of elite local and regional drivers, alongside a large crowd of motorsport enthusiasts. This spectacle reflects the significant development the sport is witnessing in the Kingdom, thanks to an ambitious vision to support national talent and build a comprehensive sports ecosystem.
Autocross Championship
In the Autocross Championship, the competitions featured fierce rivalry among the Kingdom’s champions. The Lexus Racing Team delivered an exceptional performance, culminating in remarkable achievements:
• Abdullah Al-Khurayji secured First Place in the G5 category driving a Lexus RCF.
• Ali Al-Khudair earned Third Place in the G3 category driving a Lexus IS 500.
• Female achievement was also prominent, as Masha’el Al-Huwaish clinched Second Place in the Women’s category in her Lexus RC, proving her merit and inspiring a new generation of Saudi girls to enter the world of motorsport.
Drifting Championship
In the Drifting Championship, participants delivered astonishing technical displays of car control across specially designed tracks created to test the precision of the drift, level of control, speed, and style of performance, all evaluated according to strict international assessment standards.
Among the standout results, Khaled Al-Zayed, representing the Lexus Racing Team, shone by achieving Third Place in the Pro category after intensely competitive heats. His achievement came in a Lexus RCF fully equipped for drifting, which was developed under the supervision of a specialized engineering team to include precise modifications that grant him exceptional control and a superior ability to execute the most difficult drifting maneuvers with style and stability.
These impressive results are the culmination of a distinguished journey that the Lexus Racing Team began in the first and second rounds of the season. They prove that leadership in motorsport is not built on speed alone, but on strategic planning, integrated technical support, and the outstanding performance of Lexus vehicles. Through the IS 500, RCF, RC, LC 500, and IS 350 models, Lexus offered a unique blend of power, stability, and advanced technology.
