A further six of the opening Motos for the Runabout GP4 Ladies, Ski Juniors GP3.3, Runabout GP4 Juniors, Runabout GP1 Veterans, Ski GP2, Runabout GP2 took place at the Grand Prix of Poland on Jeziorskomeer on Saturday morning.
Victories in their respective categories went to Nikola Dryjakova, Leo Kete, Rihard Leinsalu, Tomasz Kazmierczak, Mattias Reinass and Vaznys Domantas.
Perfect Runabout Ladies GP4 start for Dryjakova with opening Moto win
Former European champion Nikola Dryjakova started the first of the Runabout Ladies GP4 Motos from pole position. The Czech held off Carmen Roosmaa, Ester Rosin and Michelle Dimov through the opening lap and began to edge away from her 12 pursuing rivals. There were four Estonian racers in the top six with Katarina Sepp and Katriin Nilbe also running well.
The leaders held their positions into lap six but Roosmaa found a way to pass the Czech on lap seven, only for Dryjakova to repass her rival soon after. The pair were the class of the field with Rosin, Dimov, Sepp, Nilbe and Nicole Cadei running behind.
There was no stopping Dryjakova and she held to take the narrow win from Roosmaa and the 25 points with an impressive run. Rosin, Dimov and Sepp rounded off the top five. Kimily Lep was docked four laps for course violations.
Dryjakova said: “The start procedure was great and I made a good start. The whole race was also good and the water was flat. The second half was rougher but I got used to that and I finished in first position. I am so happy.“
Kete takes Ski Juniors GP3.3 Moto 1 win from pole
Hungary’s Leo Kete had dominated qualifying in the four-strong Ski Juniors GP3.3 section and led the way from Frenchman Maxime Arthebise, Norway’s Adrian Kristoffersen and his fellow countryman Marvin Bohuslav.
Kete stayed ahead of his rivals from the outset with Bohuslav holding second place through the opening laps. The quartet ran in a procession for the next few laps with the two Hungarians running well ahead of their rivals.
Kete held on to take the win and the 25 points from Bohuslav, Arthebise and Kristoffersen.
Opening Runabout Junior GP4 success for Leinsalu
Italy’s Aurora Filiberti hoped to build upon pole position in the first of the Runabout Junior GP4 heats. Six racers lined up at the start. Rihard Leinsalu made the best getaway and led from Adas Zalagaitis and Katarina Sepp, only for Sepp to pass her Lithuanian rival on lap two. Filiberti had slipped to fourth with Kimily Lepp and Ayrton Cerere running behind.
Zalagaitis regained second place and Sepp slipped behind Filiberti into fourth but Leinsalu was running over four seconds ahead of his nearest rival and the Estonian held on to take the Moto win. Sepp regained third place.
Runabout Veterans GP1 Moto 1 win for Kaźmierczak
Pole Adam Wasilewski had rocked his rivals by claiming pole for the Runabout Veterans GP1 section on home waters on Friday but it was Germany’s Hans-Werner Reichardt who snatched an early advantage from Tomasz Kazmierczak, Valeri Trujevtsev and the pole sitter. Bartyzel Arkadiusz settled into fifth of the eight starters.
The German maintained his lead and three Polish riders began to give chase after Arkadiusz and Wasilewski passed Trujevtsev. Kazmierczak passed Reichardt on lap eight but Wasilewski overtook him in the dying seconds only to be passed again before the finish. Reichardt had to settle for third ahead of Bartyzel Arkadiusz and Trujevtsev.
Reinass heads Estonian 1-2 in opening Ski GP2 Moto
Young Estonian Mattias Reinass had been the class of the Ski GP2 qualifiers but faced 10 rivals in the first of the Ski GP2 Motos. He stayed ahead through the opening turn buoys and began to edge away from Karl Joosep Steinberg and Marlon Tiik. Luuk Hoeke and Marten Tiik were running in fourth and fifth until Daan Hoeke climbed to fifth. Csongor Jaszai was down in seventh before dropping out of contention.
Reinass managed to stay ahead of his rivals to claim the win and Steinberg gave Estonia the top two podium places with the Dutch Hoeke duo in third and fifth. Marlon and Marten Tiik were fourth and sixth. But Marlon Tiik was later docked a lap for missing a turn buoy and that lifted the Hoeke duo into third and fourth and Marten Tiik into fifth. Manuel Leite pushed Marlon Tiik down to seventh.
Domantas takes opening Runabout GP2 Moto win from pole
Lithuania’s Vaznys Domantas had snatched pole from under the nose of Alejandro Prats Palau for the first of the Runabout GP2 Motos. Thirteen riders lined up for the Moto and Domantas maintained his lead through the opening laps from Tom Claerhout, Arnas Jakucionis, Mattias Siimann, Konrad Wróbel and Petr Dryjak.
There were no changes to the running order at the head of the field through five laps and the leaders held position into lap nine. Siimann then moved into third and Dryjak overhauled Wróbel to grab fifth. The Estonian managed to get ahead of Claerhout on lap 12 and stayed behind a flying Domantas to the finish. Dryjak finished third ahead of Jakucionis, Justin Patzner, Prats Palau and Wróbel.
Jakucionis, along with Claerhout, was handed a 25-second penalty for a jump start. Pole Igor Tycel was a non-starter.
